Snow and Crashes Close 19th Avenue North in Fargo

Posted: Updated:

Fargo Police have closed a section of 19th Avenue north because of multiple crashes and blowing snow.

Officers responded to 8 crashes reported just after 7:30 Monday morning.  Police say no one was seriously hurt.

Fargo police closed the road from University to the airport because blowing snow has made driving very difficult in the area.

Valley News Live's John Trierweiler is at the airport road and says visibility in the area is near zero at times.

Fargo city officials say 19th will likely remain closed from Dakota Drive (the airport entrance) to 18th St. into the night.

Drivers are encouraged to use 12th Ave. N. via I-29 to reach 19th Ave.

Dakota Drive will remain open for those traveling to the airport.
