For 30 years the Clara Barton Elementary School has held a winter ice skating event and Friday 15,  students from the school will lace up their skates and compete. Races are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on the Clara Barton campus.

ShiverFest is a hodge-podge of events that starts today. It has grown over the years in Devils Lake. Head to Woodland Resort for the event or Ackerman Acres. Some events include a youth ice fishing tournament, a golf course on the ice and sleigh rides.

Over the Weekend

Polar Fest wraps up in Detroit Lakes, MN this weekend and it's a busy one! Events include the Polar Pancake feed, Polar Plunge and winter fire works display.

Sunday

This Sunday is Family Day at the Dike put on by the Fargo Park District. The day will include races, sledding and food. It all starts at 1 p.m. near the Dike West and 4th St.
