Local North Dakotans Attending State Of The Union

A woman from the valley will be at tonight's State of the Union speech.

North Dakota senator Heidi Heitkamp will bring Adrienne Linde from Devils Lake as her guest to the State of the Union address. Senator Heitkamp says quote, "If there is anyone who deserves to be in Washington for my first State of the Union as a senator, it is one of my heroes."

Linde is the widow of Sgt. 1st Class Darren Linde, who was killed in action last December.

Another North Dakotan who will be at the State of the Union, Former Army Staff Sgt. Clint Romesha who received the Medal of Honor at the White House Tuesday.

He'll be a guest of First Lady Michelle Obama Wednesday night. President Obama presented Romesha with the nation's highest military honor for his courageous actions against an armed enemy in Afghanistan in October of 2009. 8 soldiers were killed in the attack and Romesha was hurt.

He currently lives in Minot, ND with his wife and three children and works for an oilfield construction company.
