Inmate Out on Work Order Wanted for Escaping

Posted: Updated:

The Cass County Sheriff's office is asking you to be on the lookout for an inmate who is considered an escapee from the Cass County Jail. Sheriff Paul Laney says Benjamin Andrew Nelson was out through the jail's work release program looking for a job and never checked back into the jail.

Nelson had been set for release in April after serving a 90-day sentence on a misdemeanor theft charge.  Once Nelson is tracked down, Sheriff Laney says he will also be facing a felony escape charge.

Give police a call if you have any information about Ben Nelson.
