The Science Behind a Car Wash

Posted: Updated:

Car washes have evolved over the years, they're now more advanced and hi-tech then ever before. However you probably wouldn't even notice it just driving through.

The brand new car wash at Rydell, in Grand Forks, features some of the newest technology in washing cars. From cameras and sensors that actually tell the wash what type of vehicle is coming through, to eighteen different applications for your vehicle, even a heated exit with indoor drip dry lanes.

"There is no other system like this in North Dakota or the surrounding area," says car wash manager, Ben Cahalan. "This is the time of year when vehicle surfaces need to be protected from the harsh winter elements and this new wash system and chemicals will not only knock off the grime, it will protect the surface."

Cahalan, reminds that you should get your car washed at-least once a month during the winter to keep it protected. Adding it doesn't matter what level or type of wash you get, just as long as you get it washed.

Today is also the last day Rydell will offer free car washes to introduce customers to their new system.

The car wash will be open until 7pm tonight and is located at 2700 S. Washington St, Grand Forks, ND.
