South High Students Teach Middle School about Internet Safety

Posted: Updated:

Most adults realize once something makes it online, it's more or less a permanent thing. But in today's world with more and more teens and even grade school students dabbling in social media, it's important that they know a thing or two about keeping certain things private.

Today students from Fargo's South High visited Carl Ben Eielson Middle School to teach students about some of the dangers of social media and how to protect yourself. They talked to kids during their lunch hour about not talking or sharing with people that they meet online, setting up privacy settings so strangers aren't contacting them, and keeping your facebook page appropriate so you don't reflect badly down the road.

Principle of Carl Ben Eielson Middle School Brad Larson was glad the students from South High came to share with his students, "our kids are all on the internet whether it be facebook or texting back and forth using their phone. This is the age when kids are getting involved using that technology and they need to be informed."
