UND hockey, NDSU softball players charged

Posted: Updated:

Five University of North Dakota hockey players and two North Dakota State University softball players face misdemeanor charges in unrelated party incidents last fall.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that UND hockey captains Andrew MacWilliam, Danny Kristo, Carter Rowney and Corban Knight were charged along with Joe Gleason for allegedly supplying alcohol to minors at a September team party. The four captains were suspended for the first game of the season.

The players are due in court March 7. The charge against them carries a maximum punishment of a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Bison softball player Alexandria Sobrero faces the same charge and Cassidy Szeredy is charged with harassment and disorderly conduct in a team party late last year that led to school-imposed sanctions against the team.
