Healthier Me: Heart Disease & Cognitive Issues

In today's Healthier Me, new research from the Mayo Clinic points to heart disease as a significant risk factor for developing mild cognitive impairment.

 

In the study, heart disease patients were twice as likely to also struggle with language, thinking, and judgement.

 Citing this apparent correlation, the Mayo researchers are stressing the importance of prevention and management in cases of heart disease; while mild, these types of impairments can eventually grow into dementia.
