Winter Storm Watch for Parts of the Valley

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: MONDAY 5:00 P.M.

A winter storm watch is in effect for parts of the valley, and a winter storm warning in others. Valley News Live has crews out around the region and the road conditions seem to be quickly deteriorating.

Depending on where you live, you likely encountered rain, sleet, snow, or a mix of the three.  Snow is headed through much of the valley for Monday night. Leave plenty of time as you head where you need to go, the Minnesota State Patrol has been responding to cars in the ditch most of the late morning and afternoon.

Travel Alert issued for southeast region of North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has issued a Travel Alert for the southeast region of North Dakota including the cities of Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo, Wahpeton, Lisbon, Edgeley, Ellendale and surrounding areas due to bands of heavy snow creating snow covered roadways, icy conditions and reduced visibility.

Conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised that conditions could change rapidly in the evening hours. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.
