Shanley Wins National Award

Posted: Updated:

A national award was given to a local high school this weekend. Shanley High School had about 150 students travel to Washington, DC for the "March For Life" event.

They won the "High School of The Year" award which is given to just one school out of three thousand. The award goes to a school for their outstanding work. Students and teachers say they were shocked to hear they won.

"Wow, we're still a little bit on cloud nine here, floating on that cloud, but we're already talking about what we can do to even go further, and to help more women in crisis situations and to help more babies be able to see the light of day." says Shanley Chaplain Father Charles LaCroix.

Three buses of Shanley students are on their way back Sunday night from the DC trip.
