West Fargo Storage Fire

Posted: Updated:

A car started on fire just after four thirty p-m at a storage garage in West Fargo. Firefighters had to break in the overhead door to get inside.

A car in the last storage unit had an engine fire. The flames didn't spread into the car or garage but there is significant smoke damage.

"While the firefighters were in there fighting the fire there was a loud bang, and they didn't know what it was right in the beginning, but going in there now, I can see that there was an airbag that went off inside the vehicle, so that causes some concern also when you don't know what it is." says West Fargo Fire Chief Roy Schatschneider.

The department says they are still working on notifying the owner.
