Longtime Bemidji Teacher Faces Sexual Conduct Charges

Making his first appearance in court Wednesday, the Bemidji teacher and coach accused of sexually abusing multiple children is charged.

"I just feel such a sigh of relief." Parents say after months of working with the police and having their children share their story, they were losing hope with the judicial system. "This was 2 years in the making." John Wangberg is finally charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a child under 14 and one count of criminal sex conduct in the 5th degree. A complaint details three victims who all said Wangberg touched there private parts while he was their gym teacher at Central elementary. Wangberg could face up to fifty years in prison.

 His next court date is March 4th.
