Man Jumps Off Balcony to Avoid Drug Test

Posted: Updated:

Authorities say a man jumped off a second-floor balcony inside the Dakota County, Minnesota Courthouse yesterday to avoid taking a urine test.

The Hastings man bolted from a deputy, jumped off the balcony and landed on his face.

He was taken to a hospital with a broken arm, bruises and a possible broken bone in his face.

A judge had ordered him to take the urine test after he pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge.
