Berries May Ward Off Heart Attacks

In tonight's Healthier Me, enriching your diet with colorful berries may help ward off a heart attack.

     Fruits and vegetables like grapes and eggplant are high in flavonoids, which have been shown in lab studies to have heart-healthy effects. Harvard researchers followed 93,000 women for nearly two decades. They were interested specifically in how often the women ate blueberries or strawberries.

Those who ate the most -- at least three servings a week -- cut their risk of heart attack by a third.
