Driving Conditions Dangerous in the Valley

Posted: Updated:

A mixture of ice and snow, puts trooper Robert Arman on guard. "It's business as usual but we sit and wait til calls come in," says Arman.

Arman knows that with the ingredients mother nature is stirring up makes for a recipe of driving dangers. "It's really an ice rink covered up by snow," says Arman. He says the most common mistakes he sees during these conditions are people driving to fast. "People see wet and go slow but when they see snow and they think they have that traction and they don't," says Arman. And for those who had to drive today, actually say stopping to fill up their tank comes as a relief as it gives them time off the roads. "My hands are actually tired from hanging on to the wheel."

"This morning was ok but the afternoon got slushy." Arman hopes by Friday night, too many people won't have to be in their cars, because it looks like the driving conditions may only be getting worst.
