Man Arrested after Chase on Icy Roads

Posted: Updated:

A man is in jail Friday morning after leading police on a chase at speeds as high as 80 mph.  A driver in Fargo ran a red light and did not stop when pulled over. Stopsticks were deployed three times, but even those didn't stop the man.

After a 40 minute chase down Interstate-94 police were finally able to stop the driver near exit 32 in Wilkin County. Clay County Sheriff's Sergeant Darin Bredman says all the tires on the van were flat, and sparks were flying off the rims as the driver continued to flee.

Police from four different agencies finally stopped the driver after deploying stop sticks and using a "pit" crash maneuver that caused him to lose control. No one was hurt.

Marc Singleton was arrested for fleeing, drunk driving, warrants and several other charges. He's being held in the Clay County Jail.
