No TV for Baby

Posted: Updated:

In tonight's Healthier Me, researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have determined that TV should not be used to calm or entertain fussy babies after observing more than 200 African American women and their babies and finding that the infants who watched the most TV were fussier. Babies as young as three months old were watching 2-1/2 hours of TV per day.

The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages TV for children under age two; they say it does not have an educational benefit and may establish unhealthy habits.
