In tonight's Healthier Me, a new study has found that vitamin D supplements do not ease painful knees, despite some promising earlier research.
Researchers at Tufts Medical Center in Boston followed more than 100 patients with knee osteoarthritis for two years. Some were given a daily 2,000-unit dose of vitamin D, while others were given a placebo.
At the end of the two years, there were no significant differences between the two groups in knee pain or the loss of cartilage associated with osteoarthritis.
