UPDATE

Police say around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Abraham Wilson came inside Cornerstone Bank with a gun demanding money. It was thanks to witnesses at the bank that police and other agencies managed to make a quick arrest.

Police say witnesses were able to get a description of Wilson's plates and got that information to local agencies. The vehicle, believed to be stolen, was spotted on Highway 10 by a Dilworth police officer.

Working with the Clay County Sheriff's Office, they were able to halt the Wilson's vehicle with stop sticks after chasing him at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

When the car did stop, Wilson tried to run away on foot, and that's when Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist tackled and arrested him.

Fargo Police say they are happy to have him off the streets, as he was armed and wanted for multiple felonies. Police say Wilson is not stranger to their system and has a history of criminal arrests.

"These types of incidences we take very seriously," Joel Vettel, Fargo Police Lieutenant, said. "We do everything we can to make sure we are solving them. Even though they are very rare in our community, when they happen we take them very seriously and get somebody in custody as quickly as we can."

Wilson is behind bars. Police say that's great news, since it has only been 48 hours since he robbed the Sop 'N' Go in North Fargo.

Police also credit great surveillance cameras at both the Stop 'N' Go and Cornerstone Bank for helping them identify Wilson.

ORIGINAL STORY

Fargo police responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Cornerstone Bank at 2627 S. University Drive just after 2:00pm Tuesday. The robber took off in what police say is a stolen vehicle reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour.

Throughout the pursuit, the man was chased through both Fargo and Moorhead. He got out of his vehicle at 2810 5th Avenue North in Moorhead and took off on foot. A short time later, police caught up with the robber and arrested him.  The weapon was also recovered.

Fargo Police have confirmed the man arrested is Abraham Wilson. He is also the man police believe is responsible for the Stop 'N' Go robbery on Sunday.
