Police Ask for Help Finding Missing Bemidji Man

Posted: Updated:

Bemidji Police are asking for your help as they search for a missing man. Matthew Charles Pulis (31) of Bemidji was last seen at a bar in downtown Bemidji during the early morning hours of October 20, 2012.

Pulis is described as a Caucasian male, 5'7", 165 pounds, with blue eyes and longish light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a zip-type dark blue hooded sweatshirt. The photo attached to this story was taken just before he disappeared.

The Bemidji Police Department has been investigating and following up all leads and information, searching a 200 block area door-to-door where Pulis was last seen, searching his home, and conducting an aerial search of Lake Bemidji and Lake Irvine.

Numerous interviews have been conducted with people who might know Pulis. Police say neither his bank account nor his electronic mobile devices have been accessed since before his disappearance, and no one, including his family, has had contact with him.  Matthew does not own a vehicle or drive.

His family would appreciate any information, as this continues to be a very difficult and trying time for them. If you have any information about Matthew, please call the Bemidji/ Beltrami Law Enforcement Center at 218-333-9111 (or toll-free at 1-888-449-9111) or the detective in charge of this case, Mike Solheim, at 218-333-8373. You can also e-mail Detective Solheim at msolheim@ci.bemidji.mn.us.

In addition, Matthew is encouraged to contact family or law enforcement and advise them of his status.
