The Fargo Force prevailed over the Des Moines Buccaneers 5-2 in front of a crowd of 3,578 at Scheels Arena.

Des Moines struck first in the contest with a goal by Zach Saar with help from Nolan Valleau. Less than a minute later, the Buccaneers upped their lead to 2-0 with a goal by Michael Marnell.  Luke Shiplo and Roman Uchyn were in with assists. The Force got right back in the game when Taylor Fleming picked up the rebound off of Brendan Harms and brought the game within one to close out the first period.

The Force started the second period out strong when less than a minute in Jared Dedenbach grabbed his first goal of the season to even up the game at two. Frank Schumacher had the assist on the goal, giving him his first point as a member of the Force. Neither team was able to gain an advantage and at the conclusion of the second period the game remained tied at 2-2.

Finally, 7:27 into the final period, the Force broke the gridlock when Kenny Gillespie scored an unassisted goal. This was Gillespie's second goal in just his third game with the team. The Force extended their lead when Alex Iafallo banked in a goal with help from Dominic Toninato. As time was winding down, the Buccaneers pulled their goalie giving way to an empty net goal by Dedenbach, banking his second of the evening that gave the Force a three goal lead en route to their 5-2 victory.

Jared Dedenbach had an explosive night with two goals, his first two of the season. "I had a bunch of chances before tonight. In the first period I had chances to score, so I came in kind of mad I didn't and just got the puck on my stick in the second and put one back there," said Dedenbach. After getting his first goal of the season, he feels a relief and hopes to get a few more going forward this season. After a tough lost to the Sioux Falls Stampede last night, Dedenbach said they came together and went out ready to play.

"When we play the way these players are capable of playing we are a good hockey team. We are a team that needs to play hard all the time. At this level we need to play hard to win and we played hard tonight," said Head Coach John Marks.
