State Patrol Hopes "Zero Deaths" Trend Sticks

Posted: Updated:

With vehicles out on the road, accidents are bound to happen. But the Minnesota State Patrol says those who decide to drink and drive, and get in a wreck, are committing a crime. Not an accident.

"People are getting the message,"says Sgt. Jesse Grabow with the Minnesota State Patrol. It's a message the patrol have been working hard to get out.

"People know we're going to be out and about. Our goal is DUI prevention," says Sgt. Grabow. And with starting the 2013 year off on a high note, with no deadly DUI crashes on New Years Eve.

"Good way to kick off new year."

The patrol hopes not just crashes, but less DUI's will take place.

"We hope it continues throughout the year."

Troopers say if you do drink and get behind the wheel, they will be waiting for you.
