A Kansas man who owns a custom combining business was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to taking more than $9,000 in corn from an Emmons County farmer.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/UNdZUA ) that 48-year-old Kevin Clark pleaded guilty on Monday to felony theft of property.

Clark is the owner of American Quality Harvesting and Trucking, also known as Clark Farms, of Hesston, Kan. The company was in North Dakota in late summer harvesting for farmers.

South Central District Judge Cynthia Feland ordered Clark to repay the farmer for the corn and pay $1,950 in fines and court fees.

Feland also allowed Clark to have his probation transferred to Kansas.
