ND woman set for sentencing in bank fraud case

Posted: Updated:

Sentencing is set for a North Dakota woman accused along with her sister in a bank fraud case.

Ann Loran, of Richardton, is charged in federal court with conspiracy to commit bank fraud and money laundering. She pleaded guilty in October.

Loran's sister, Betty Kolling, is a former trust officer at Bank of the West in Dickinson. Kolling and her husband, Walter Kolling, pleaded guilty earlier to conspiring to commit bank fraud.

Authorities say the Kollings and Loran were part of a scheme to raid trust funds and in one case obtain lucrative mineral rights for a nominal fee.

Loran's sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bismarck.

The Kollings are scheduled to be sentenced on March 13.
