Man Arrested for Grand Forks Robbery

Grand Forks police quickly arrested a suspect after an armed robbery early Monday morning.

Officers were called to 900 University avenue just before 2:45 am.  The victim told investigators the suspect came up to him outside an apartment building, told him he had a knife and ran off with a small amount of cash.

Police caught up with Abdullahi Guled a short time later and determined he was the man they were looking for.

Investigators arrested Guled for the holdup and possession of drug paraphernalia.

GRAND FORK POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

Grand Forks Police officers were dispatched to 900 University Ave. for a robbery that had just occurred.  Andreas Brunette was outside of his apartment building when he was approached by a male subject. 

The subject said that he had a knife, and then told Brunette to give him his possessions.  The suspect then fled with a small amount of cash. 

Officers responded to the area, where they encountered Abdullahi Ali Guled.  Upon investigation, it was determined that Guled was responsible, and he was ultimately arrested in connection with this crime.  Guled was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. 

University of North Dakota Police officers and Border Patrol agents assisted with this investigation.
