
Mike Felt scored a game-high 16 points off the bench to lead North Dakota State to its third road win of the year 65-48 at Towson on Saturday, Dec. 15.
Chris Kading added 11 points as the NDSU bench outscored Towson 29-11. Taylor Braun finished with 10 points for the Bison, who shot 43.8 percent from the floor and improved to 9-3 overall.
NDSU's Lawrence Alexander had eight points and five assists, Marshall Bjorklund tallied eight points and eight rebounds, and TrayVonn Wright had six points, seven rebounds and a career-high four blocks.
Towson (4-7) shot just 33.9 percent as a team. Mike Burwell led the Tigers with 14 points and Bilal Dixon had 11 rebounds. NDSU held 6-foot-8 forward Jerrelle Benimon, who averages a double-double, to just six points and five rebounds.
Towson jumped out to a 4-0 lead before NDSU answered with a 9-0 run capped by Felt's four-point play conversion, and the Bison never trailed again.
Felt, who was 0-for-7 in Tuesday's loss at Minnesota, made two first-half 3-pointers and Kading was 3-for-3 from the field to help the Bison take a 28-25 lead to the locker room.
Towson scored on the first possession of the second half to make it a one-point game, but NDSU stretched the lead to 12 holding the Tigers scoreless for the next six minutes.
NDSU had a 38-31 edge in total rebounds and went 17-for-19 at the free-throw line compared to Towson's 4-for-10.
North Dakota State hosts Morehead State at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, in the final non-conference tune-up before returning to Summit League play at home against South Dakota State on Saturday, Dec. 29.
