BOSTON, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Buy-Write Opportunities Fund (NYSE: ETV), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months and year ended December 31, 2012. The Fund's fiscal year ended on December 31, 2012.

For the three months ended December 31, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $2,882,430 ($0.046 per share). For the year ended December 31, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $8,342,791 ($0.131 per share). In comparison, for the three months ended December 31, 2011, the Fund had net investment income of $1,906,970 ($0.030 per share). For the year ended December 31, 2011, the Fund had net investment income of $6,017,158 ($0.094 per share).

Net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended December 31, 2012 were $24,370,776 ($0.384 per share). Net realized and unrealized gains for the year ended December 31, 2012 were $83,949,669 ($1.313 per share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended December 31, 2011 were $103,507,558 ($1.621 per share). Net realized and unrealized gains for the year ended December 31, 2011 were $46,351,047 ($0.725 per share).

On December 31, 2012, net assets of the Fund were $876,151,826. The net asset value per share on December 31, 2012 was $13.77 based on 63,614,866 shares outstanding. In comparison, on December 31, 2011, net assets of the Fund were $871,184,085. The net asset value per share on December 31, 2011 was $13.65 based on 63,816,866 shares outstanding.
