Last 2 Escaped Juveniles Captured

Posted: Updated:

The two remaining juvenile escapees from the youth correctional center in Mandan have been found and are in jail this morning.

Donnie Lee JR. and Robert Devine were arrested in Minot.

The father of one of the teens called police last night just before 8:00 p.m. saying both teens were with him outside of the ward county jail.

The teens escaped Sunday after assaulting a corrections officer and stealing a car that belonged to the facility. That vehicle was found abandoned in Minot Monday night.

Fargo Police say teenagers Emmanuel Hunter, Terrick Kern, and Kyran Johnson are all in custody. Donnie Lee, Jr. and Bobby Devine are still on the loose and considered violent and possibly armed.  Valley News Live was at the crash moments after it happened and got reaction from the neighborhood on their dramatic capture.

Getting three of the teens back into custody wasn't with out a struggle and damage of property. Events escalated fast for Dale Boeddeker. He lives in the Rose Creek neighborhood in south Fargo and around noon on Tuesday, a van crashed into a tree in his front yard.

"Joyce said someone had hit tree and they were running from the scene," Boeddeker says.

He yelled at the three people responsible for the crash to stop but they did not.

"Took out tree, and did considerable damage."

Little did they know, those responsible for crashing the car here were all wanted for escaping a treatment facility in Mandan.

"The way they were driving caused them to crash," according to Lt. Joel Vettel. And as authorities across the state continue to look for the teens, Vettel says they're not sure where to look. "No reason to believe the other two are in area or no reason to believe they are not."

The three juveniles who were caught Tuesday will be transported back to Mandan eventually facing additional charges. Dale Boeddeker says he is just happy they were caught.

Authorities are looking for five boys who escaped from the Youth Correctional Center at Mandan after assaulting a correctional officer.

Police believe the 15-, 16- and 17-year-old boys are in the Minot area. They are considered violent and possibly armed.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Steve Fischer tells The Bismarck Tribune that a vehicle stolen from the Mandan facility was founded abandoned in Minot on Monday night. He says it belonged to the YCC officer who was attacked on Sunday. Fischer says the officer was not seriously hurt.
