MSUM Planetarium showing Holiday Lights

Posted: Updated:

Now that it's getting closer to the holidays more people have been putting lights out on their houses, but how did the tradition of Christmas lights start?

The inspiration comes from the sky. Msum's planetarium takes a look at the season of lights and the history behind the twinkling stars. The show talks about the history of holiday customs from putting lights on trees, to the Hanukkah Menorah, to the Yule Log. The story takes you on an adventure going through the history of different people from many places, and what light means to them.
