UPDATE: West Fargo Student Hit by Car Dies

The West Fargo High School family has experienced significant loss in the last two days.

The school district confirms Levi Schulz, who was hit by a pickup on Sheyenne Street in West Fargo, has no brain activity and his body is also being prepared for organ donation.

The crisis response team from WFHS, as well as counseling staff from across the West Fargo district and from the Fargo district have been onsite and are available for students and staff through 4:00 PM Friday

A candlelight vigil is been planned to celebrate the lives of Levi Schulz, Tessa Miller, and Ian Alves Friday night at 7:30 at the Elmwood Park ball diamonds.

UPDATE

Police have identified a man hit early Friday morning on busy Sheyenne Street. Levi Schulz is an 18-year-old from Horace, North Dakota that is currently a student at West Fargo High School.

West Fargo Police say Schulz got a flat tire, and was returning to his vehicle when he was hit by a pickup.  Sheyenne Street in was shut down between Interstate-94 and 32nd Avenue Friday morning after the crash as police reconstructed the scene. 

Schulz is at Essentia Health with serious injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in West Fargo. It happened around 7:40 am Friday near the corner of Sheyenne Street and 23rd Avenue South.

Assistant Chief Mike Reitan says the victim was driving a vehicle that had just broken down. After the victim stepped outside the disabled vehicle, he was struck.

Sheyenne Street was closed between I-94 and 32nd Avenue South for accident reconstruction.
