Joyce's generous bid put the Boys & Girls Club over the group's goal.
Branson, Missouri (PRWEB) December 05, 2012
Pat Joyce knew he wanted to attend this year's Thanksgiving Gala fund raiser to support the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks, one of his favorite charities.
Joyce, president and CEO of Branson's Summerwinds Resort Services LLC., hit a grand slam for the organization when he submitted the high bid for an impromptu auction of a fantastic prize - a chance to watch a New York Yankees game with former Mayor Rudy Guiliani in his private box.
Joyce's generous bid put the Boys & Girls Club over the group's $200,000 goal, and will allow the organization to continue to provide urgently needed services to more than 1,100 local children in the coming year.
Guiliani was the keynote speaker at the Nov. 10 gala, which drew more than 600 people to the Branson Convention Center.
Billy Rader, the club's executive director, was visibly moved by the outcome of the fundraiser. "Thanks to your generosity, local parents have a safe place for their kids to go," he told the crowd. "The work we do matters for the kids here."
