UPDATE: FBI Suspect Arrested in Bismarck

Posted: Updated:

Police in Bismarck have arrested an Idaho kidnapping suspect after the man allegedly pulled a gun on a truck driver and then fled to a nearby trailer park.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena says Mitchell Lee Walck was arrested shortly after noon Wednesday. Buschena says a truck driver reported that a man entered his vehicle at a Bismarck truck stop. The trucker told police the man pulled out a gun and then ran to a nearby trailer park.
Buschena says officers found Walck hiding behind a tree. A gun was recovered at the scene.
Regional law enforcement officers had been searching for Walck after a 62-year-old Rathdrum, Idaho, woman reported she was kidnapped from her home at gunpoint and driven to Glendive, Mont., where she was released unharmed Sunday.

The FBI is searching for a man suspected of firing at an Idaho State trooper during a chase early Saturday and later kidnapping a woman who was dropped off unharmed in eastern Montana -- and officials believe he could be heading our way.

The Kootenai County sheriff's department in Idaho obtained a $1 million warrant for the arrest of 57-year-old Mitchell Lee Walck on a kidnapping charge after investigators say the 62-year-old woman he reportedly kidnapped was released unharmed in Glendive, Montana. Walck was last seen driving the woman's 2005 silver Subaru Forester with Idaho license plate K230050.
The FBI says Walck may be traveling through North Dakota, South Dakota or Minnesota.

Walck is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call law enforcement.
