Slumberland's 18th Annual Mattress Giveaway

Posted: Updated:

Even though it may be hard to believe, some children don't have a bed to sleep in at night -- something those at Slumberland take very seriously -- and that's what Slumberland of West Fargo and the Knights of Columbus gathered this morning for the 18th time in as many years to give 31 area children new beds to sleep in.

The kids also received a gift bag complete with a new pair of sheets and a hand-sewn quilt.

"Every year we unfortunately have to turn away a number of people," Slumberland Manager Derick Vettleson tells us. "Even though we were able to donate 31 sets, there's many more kids out there who don't have sets still."

Over the past 18 years, Slumberland as been able to provide 500 new beds to children in need.
