Pedestrian Killed Crossing Highway 10 in Lake Park

 Someone was killed Thursday night after getting hit by a vehicle while trying to cross a busy road in Becker County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, someone was walking across Highway 10 in Lake Park, Minnesota just after 10:30 p.m. when they were hit by a GMC Arcadia going east on the Highway.

Officers say it happened near 2nd Street, and there was no crosswalk at the intersection. The State Patrol originally reported the pedestrian was seriously hurt, but an updated crash report was issued just before 3:00 a.m. Friday stating the person died.

 


 

UPDATE:

The state patrol has identified the pedestrian killed on Highway 10 near Lake Park last night as 25-year-old Shelby E. Somerville.
