Fire leaves Huge Hole in South Fargo Home

Posted: Updated:

Around 8:30 Friday morning, the Fargo Fire Department got a call about lots of smoke coming from a house in south Fargo.  Crews were dispatched to a home at 4264 Russet Ave. S, which is near 32nd Avenue south between 45th and 42nd Streets.

When fire crews and the Valley News Live team arrived, flames were seen shooting out of the roof and smoke could be seen from blocks away. The majority of the damage remains in the back of the house, firefighters say they believe the fire started in the basement. Investigators believe the fire was electrical and started at or near a 62 inch projection TV with several other appliances attached to it.

The Fargo Fire department says no one was home at the time of the fire and a neighbor called it in. The family who lives in the home is being assisted with a place to stay by The Salvation Army and American Red Cross.
