Give To The Max Day 2012

Posted: Updated:

From Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity:

What is Give to the Max Day: GiveMN.org mobilizes donors around the state of Minnesota and surrounding communities to help raise as much money as possible for Minnesota nonprofits during their annual 24 hour fundraising drive- known as Give to the Max Day.  Give to the Max Day will take place on Thursday, November 15 this year and will mark the 4th annual statewide giving day.

Fundraising Goal: Lake Agassiz Habitat hopes to raise more than $6,000 on Give to the Max Day to support our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope in Cass and Clay counties.

How can I help Lake Habitat for Humanity: Starting at midnight, log on to www.GiveMN.org and search ‘Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity' or visit our giving page and enter your credit or debit card information to give whatever amount you would like to see matched.

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity is also hosting give stations at our office located inside the Habitat ReStore at 210 11th Street North in Moorhead.  The public is invited to come and visit us and make a donation online until 5pm.  We will also accept offline donations throughout that will count towards the match total.

What do you mean "matched donations": Wells Fargo will make their own donation to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity.  Wells Fargo will give $1 for $1 given by another donor during the 24-hour giving event- matching the first $3,000 donated to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity.  This means the dollars you donate today will go twice as far with Habitat- doubling your impact in this community.

What are the benefits to giving today: During Give to the Max Day, donors can amplify their giving to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity in a number of ways:

  • Matching Gifts!  The first $3,000 in gifts to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity on Give to the Max Day will be matched $1 for $1 by Wells Fargo.
  • Win a Golden Ticket! $1,000 will be given to a random donor's charity every hour.  A supersized donation of $10,000 will be donated to a random donor's non-profit at the end of the day. You could be that donor!
  • Put Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity on the Leader Board!  The 10 nonprofit organizations that receive the most dollars in 24 hours during Give to the Max Day will receive $12,500, $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000 (4th through 10th place) prize grants.

Are there benefits to the donors:  On Give to the Max Day, like any other day, all donations made to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity are tax deductible. In addition, Aquablue, the aqua massage and gift store in Fargo is offering special discounts and deals- including free massages- to anyone that presents a confirmation receipt from Habitat as part of Give to the Max Day.

Why donate to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity: Your gift will open the door to possibilities, stability, and bright futures for families in Cass and Clay Counties.  Your generosity makes it possible for families in our community to experience the difference that a simple, affordable – and permanent home can have in their lives and in the lives of the generations to come.
