Is Your Car Ready For Winter?

Posted: Updated:

Winter is fast approaching and even though you may be ready for the cold and icy roads, your car may need some help.

Mike Dow, at Fargo Tire recommends a few simple steps to making sure your car can handle another harsh valley winter.

  • Check your antifreeze levels, make sure you have a 50/50 mixture
  • Make sure your battery is at full strength and there's no corrosion on connectors
  • Check that your washer fluid is full and ready to work
  • Ensure your wipers are in good shape to handle snow and ice
  • Check all tires and be sure they're not worn out

An easy trick for checking your tires, is placing a penny in the tread. If Lincoln's head is covered up, your tires are good to go. If you can see Lincoln's head, it's most likely time to get new tires.

Dow says, it all comes down to safety when following these steps. "If you can avoid an accident at any cost it's well worth it, we live in a business were procrastination is king so get ahead of the game and do it right away."
