The Bison defense was dealt a major blow today as head coach Craig Bohl announced that starting defensive tackle Leevon Perry is done for the year with a left knee injury.
Perry has been a difference-maker all year, starting all 10 games for the Bison, racking up 18 tackles, two and a half sacks, and a forced fumble. As we told you live on KVLY during our broadcast of Saturdays game, Perry felt the jackrabbits offensive line was out to get him and the video backs his claim. Never the less, coach Bohl says the team needs to move on and deal with the adversity.
Coach Bohl declined comment on whether or not NDSU would send footage of the injury to the Missouri Valley's office. Redshirt freshman Brian Shotz will return to the defensive line rotation this week after missing the last two games with a sprained knee.
