NDSU Staff Vehicle Found in Red River

Posted: Updated:

A North Dakota State University staff vehicle was found in the Red River this morning. It was in the middle of the river off of Elm Street and 14th Ave N. where the river is only about 4 feet deep.

Nobody was found inside but authorities believe the car went into the Red before the snow started coming down Sunday morning. Sgt. Kevin Pallas of the Fargo Police Department says no sign of tire tracks leading into the river were on top of the snow.

Crews including the Fargo Police, Fargo Fire Department, K-9 Officers and the Valley Rescue were on scene in North Fargo for a couple hours scouring the river for the driver per chance they didn't make it to shore. As of noon on Sunday, Police are still investigating into why the vehicle was stolen and who was driving it prior to the car making it into the Red River.
