Early Morning Fire in Northern Valley

Posted: Updated:

Crookston firefighters were called out at 1 a.m. for a fire on the north end of town after a neighbor heard screams.

Firefighters arrived at 416 Central Avenue to find a garage fully engulfed in flames. It took an hour to get the flames knocked down enough, so firefighters could take a look inside the garage.

No one was hurt or injured.

Tim Froeber, Crookston Fire Chief: "Nobody was inside the structure at the time of the fire and we're just doing some investigation right now and let it cool down so we can get into it."

Reporter: "Two vehicles in there?"

Froeber: "Yeah, a couple vehicles in there. That impeded getting the fire out quickly due to the tires and fuel in em."

Froeber says the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. A State Fire Marshal has now been called to investigate the scene this week.

The name of the home owner has not been released.
