The Fargo Force will be hosting a benefit for former Fargo North goaltender Nick Schmit on Friday, November 16, versus the Omaha Lancers at 7:35 PM.
Schmit graduated from Fargo North in the spring of last year and was struck by a boat and seriously injured over the Fourth of July weekend this past summer on West McDonald Lake. He was a goaltender for the state championship Fargo North boy's hockey team.
Schmit has been going through therapy and slowly working his way to getting back onto the ice. As of late, he has been skating and working out with the Minot Minotaurs in the NAHL.
Fans will be able to bid on items in a silent auction with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Nick's family to cover medical expenses incurred during his stay in the hospital.
