Minnesota Deer Hunter Dies of Heart Attack

A second hunter has died in northwest Minnesota during the opening weekend for deer hunting.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says Michael Spielmann, age 66, from Maple Lake, MN died of an apparent heart attack.

It happened just before 5:00 PM Sunday at his deer stand near the Three Culverts Road in Taylor Township.

Investigators say another member of Spielmann's hunting party called 911, when deputies arrived he was already dead. 

An investigation is underway to determine the official cause and manner of death.
