Northern Valley Roads Slick: Police Advise Caution

Posted: Updated:

Police in the northern valley are asking people to be careful out on the roads. Overnight snow is making for slick surfaces in many areas. The National Weather Service says the band of snow that dropped three to six inches of snow in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota will end this morning, but roads remain snow covered and slick.

A check of state transportation maps at 7 a.m. shows snow covered conditions from the Canadian border south through Grand Forks County, with ice and compacted snow in a pocket between Grand Forks and Devils Lake. Roads are wet and slushy in the Hillsboro area, but surfaces clear up around Fargo and south to the South Dakota border. Minnesota's map indicates difficult driving conditions in the extreme northwest corner of the state, but otherwise has roads in good winter driving condition in our area.
