Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota Highway Patrol just released results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted Thursday night in Fargo.  They were set up with Fargo Police and the Cass County Sheriff's Department on Interstate-29 at 13th Avenue.

Of the almost 246 cars that passed through the checkpoint, authorities tested just 10 people for impairment and 7 arrests were made.  Two people were arrested for driving under the influence, and police say both of those drivers were also charged with driving with a suspended license.

Aside from the two DUI arrests, police found open alcohol containers in two cars, a minor consuming alcohol, and made two drug-related arrests for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The checkpoint was conducted from 10:45 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. All vehicles exiting I-29 at exit 64 northbound were screened during the checkpoint. The average delay for drivers at a checkpoint is approximately 20 seconds.
