The Cobber Women's soccer team has fared well in recent MIAC playoffs; Concordia has advanced to the MIAC championship game in 7 of the last 8 years, and they're hoping to make it 8 of the last 9 with a win over St. Benedict at home today.
The Cobbers were up 1-0 in the first half, and were trying to double their lead, but Emma Ekdahl's pass is too far in front of Gina Weis, and goalie Megan Favorite comes out for the sliding grab, leaving it 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, Peggy Reiner has a great opportunity for the Blazers, but she doesn't get enough on the shot, and senior Ali Nelson is there to make the save for the Cobbers. Nelson only had to make 3 saves in this game.
Concordia gets the win 1-0 and will host Augsburg in the final game of the MIAC championship. The game will be held Saturday at 2:00 at Concordia.
