Dad Tells Man He "Hopes He Rots in Hell" After His Daughter's Murder

Posted: Updated:

There were very strong words from the parents of a 9-year-old girl raped and murdered 22   years ago.

Donald Moeller was put to death Tuesday night for the 1990 rape and murder of Becky O'connell.

The 60-year-old received a lethal injection at the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls, marking the state's second execution this month.

Moeller kidnapped the girl from a Sioux Falls convenience store... then raped and stabbed her.

Becky's family says Moeller watched their daughter take her last breath, and they wanted to watch him take his.

David Curl/Becky's Step-Father: "Everyone keeps telling us to make this about Becky, there is no Becky, because of Don Moeller. Whether right or wrong we will hate that son of a *bleep* till the day we die. May he rot in hell."

Becky's mother has been steadfast in her wish to be at the execution -- she raised money so she could travel from her New York home.
