UND is looking at some big expansion projects in the coming year…that today from President Robert Kelley during his state of the University address.
Kelley says their record enrollment of over 15-thousand students this year puts them at a number they'd like to maintain.
However, he says they're looking at remodeling and expansion projects at their Law and Medical schools. Kelley also says they're looking at the possibility of collaborating with Williston State in western North Dakota, as part of their new, Geological Engineering School. It will specialize in recovering oil.
Robert Kelley, President UND: "They have a facility there that could be a shared facility… some of those classrooms, laboratories, areas where we could participate with Williston State. There's a possibility we might build a new building that would be part of UND in the western part of the State."
All of these ideas will be considered the Legislature this winter for possible funding.
