Posted: Updated:

Election 2012 is already underway. Today, early voting started across the Valley and it appears to be off to a record breaking start.

More and more people are choosing the convenience of early voting.

Grand Forks County Auditor, Debbie Nelson says the early vote could make up 25-percent of the total vote. Plus, absentee ballots are going out at a record pace.

Debbie Nelson, G.F. Auditor: "In 2008 we had about 83-hundred voters, the last presidential election. It was the first time we've ever done this. So, I anticipate we will be busy."

Early voting for Grand Forks County residents runs through Friday at the Alerus Center from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m..

In Fargo, Cass County early voters can now cast their ballots at two different sites:  The Doublewood Inn on 13th avenue and Hilton Garden Inn on 45th street are open to vote 10 a.m. through 7 p.m.…, now through Friday.

Rural Cass County residents can vote in Casseleton at the Days Inn from Wednesday through Friday, also 10 a.m. through 7 p.m..

Residents in other counties should check with your County Auditor's office.
