President Clinton To Rally For Heidi Heitkamp In Fargo Tonight

Posted: Updated:

Former President Bill Clinton is coming to North Dakota to campaign for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp.  He'll be holding rally at 7 p.m. Monday, October 29 at the Fargo Civic Center downtown. The event is free and open to the public.

"President Clinton knows how important it is to elect individuals who put partisanship aside and fight for the middle class. I am proud to have his support," said Heitkamp, who served as North Dakota Attorney General while President Clinton was in office.

"When President Clinton was in office, we had a budget surplus and were on track to pay off our Federal debt. I am running for the Senate to help get our fiscal house back in order."

Heitkamp is running against Republican U.S. Rep. Rick Berg to succeed departing Sen. Kent Conrad. Polls show they are in a tight race.

Clinton also traveled to North Dakota last March to speak at the Democrats' state convention in Grand Forks.
