The FDA is cautioning parents about the dangers of over-the-counter eye drops and nasal decongestant sprays. The warning comes after identifying nearly 100 cases where children became seriously ill after accidentally ingesting these products. The drops and sprays are sold by various brand names as well as generics and store brands. They're not required to have child resistant closures. More than half of the cases required hospitalization due to nausea, lethargy, or coma.
